GRAD collaborates with high performing community-based organizations in the neighborhoods we serve to offer college access support. We call these sites, Community Access Points, or CAP Sites. Our GRAD CAP Sites differ in terms of the services they provide, but all are committed to supporting Houston’s most under-resourced families. Services may include office hours during which students and families can receive counseling from GRAD staff members, college prep and financial aid workshops, professional development in college access and success, etc. We also recruit students through CAP Sites to participate in our GRAD Scholars program, which gives students and families access to the full spectrum of our services. This collaborative model of outreach and service expands GRAD’s reach, serving families who would have never been served through our school-based model. GRAD Scholars also gain access to the other services available at GRAD CAP Sites.
