Student Requirements to Qualify
The Project GRAD Houston Scholarship Program provides financial assistance toward a college education to qualifying seniors at Project GRAD affiliated high schools within the Houston Independent School District - Jefferson Davis, Jack Yates, Phillis Wheatley, John H. Reagan, and Sam Houston.
All students at Project GRAD Houston affiliated high schools are eligible to earn a scholarship under this program, provided they meet all of the following requirements. The student must:
- complete two Project GRAD Houston-sponsored college institutes. An equivalent program may be substituted with the approval of the Project GRAD Houston Scholarship Director;
- take the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) as a sophomore or junior;
- complete all of the Houston ISD academic requirements for graduation and the Texas High School Recommended or Distinguished Graduation Plan;
- graduate from a Project GRAD Houston affiliated high school with a 2.5 overall GPA within four years of initial enrollment.
