Student Requirements to Qualify

The Project GRAD Houston Scholarship Program provides financial assistance toward a college education to qualifying graduates of Project GRAD affiliated high schools within the Houston Independent School District - Jefferson Davis, Jack Yates, Phillis Wheatley, John H. Reagan, and Sam Houston Math, Science, Technology Center. The scholarship award amount is based on a calculation each year pending available funding of your unmet financial need before loans, and is limited to a maximum of $500 per semester and the student's ongoing eligibility.

The student is eligible to earn the scholarship provided they meet all of the following requirements:

complete two Project GRAD Houston-sponsored college institutes.
take the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) as a sophomore or junior;
complete all of the Houston ISD academic requirements for graduation with the Texas High School Recommended or Distinguished Graduation Plan;
graduate from a Project GRAD Houston affiliated high school with a 2.5 overall GPA within four years of initial high school enrollment.
