Dave Woody moved to Austin from his home state of Colorado and began photographing his new home. His large-format photographs are sensitive examinations of Texas, a “new place”. The pictures were taken on walks through the woods and down small town streets. The quiet and still portraits show Texans at play, in rivers, on lakes, in the woods and on Main Streets in small towns.
Dave Woody grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado and received is M.F.A from the University of Texas at Austin. He exhibited at FotoFest during the 2006 inter-Biennial season in the Native Sons exhibition.
The mission of Project GRAD is to ensure a quality public education for all students in economically disadvantaged communities so that high school and college graduation rates increase.
