AES+F, Episode 2. No. 12, from the series Action Half Life, 2003, Digital Color Photograph Collage, Courtesy of FotoFest and the Artist
® FotoFest This photograph is for educational purposes only and cannot be reproduced.
Action Half Life deals with questions of heroism in an age when violence is depicted in movies, television, and video games; a virtual world passively accepted by its participants. Large-scale digital collages are created featuring children in heroic postures, selected from model agencies, engaged in fictional battles in the desert. The title Action Half Life references a video game.
AES+F is a team of four Moscow-born multi-media artists Tatiana Arzamasova, Lev Evzovich, Evgeny Svyatsky, and Vladimir Fridkes. The Russian group participated in the FOTOFEST2006 Biennial focusing on Artists Responding to Violence and the Earth.
The mission of Project GRAD is to ensure a quality public education for all students in economically disadvantaged communities so that high school and college graduation rates increase.
