Compare and Contrast A Colorful World
Grade Level: Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten
Content area(s): ELA. Visual Arts and Music
Classroom Time: Two 45 minute periods
Purpose: Students will learn compare and contrast through a class experience, stories, art and music
Skills Addressed:
ELA skill: Compare/contrast and categorizing
Visual Arts skill: Warm/cool colors
Music skill: Recognize contrast in tempos/demonstrate awareness of contrast when singing with
movement
Supplies:
Sentence strips, markers/crayons, internet access and/or books, paper, and optional instruments or
supplies to make instruments
