The Logic of Space - Is it possible?

Classroom Time: Two 90-minute sessions

Purpose: Discover optical illusions, experience translations, transformations, rotations, reflections, tessellations, review and define regular polygons, and problem solve real life situations involving perimeter and area

Visual Arts: Communicate meaning or intent through artwork, connections between art and other disciplines

Supplies:
Protractor, pencil, handouts, scissors, metric and customary rulers, graph paper, 2 per student (http://www.math.kent.edu/~white/graphpaper/ - non bold 1”, two or attachment 5), tape, blank paper, cardstock/poster board, markers and/or map pencils
